May Day

The Hotel Maria welcomes you to a joyful Vappu celebration in true Helsinki style. Vappu, or May Day as it’s known internationally, is Finland’s most cherished spring holiday and is a festive tribute to the season’s arrival. Alongside champagne and an atmosphere brimming with joy, we offer a festive lunch with a carefully crafted menu, complete with an indulgent dessert table and perfectly paired drinks to elevate your celebration.

Vappu Lunch at Lilja
Join us on Thursday May 1 for lunch at Lilja, where our chefs have designed a spectacular three-course May Day menu accompanied by a festive dessert table with delightful Finnish and international sweets. View the menu here. The festive experience is complemented by saxophonist Johannes Salomaa, performing live in the restaurant.

After lunch, the Vappu festivities continue at Bar Maria for cocktails and champagne, and our outdoor terraces will be open, offering the perfect setting to toasting the arrival of spring in the sunshine surrounded by friends and family. 

Vappu lunch seatings are at 12:30 PM, 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM.

Reservations are essential, book your table today and celebrate Vappu with us. Vappu menu is available throughout the day. Lilja will be open on Vappu Eve from 12:00 AM until 11:00 PM, Vappu Day from 12:30 AM to 11:00 PM, while Bar Maria will welcome guests from 4:00 PM to midnight (with last orders at 11:30 PM).

Vappu Accommodation
